Clients & V.I.P.s

While consumers are welcome to browse in many showrooms, other showrooms are not open to the public. There are three ways designers can ensure that their clients receive special V.I.P. treatment to make their visit a productive and pleasurable experience:

  1. Designers should accompany clients to the Design Center whenever possible.
  2. Provide clients with a letter of introduction.
  3. Make an appointment for clients to visit specific showrooms.

Letters of introduction must be written on company letterhead and are valid for one visit and for one month. If you would like your clients to make repeat visits, this should be indicated on the letter, along with the showrooms to be visited. The letter must be signed by a design professional working with the client.

Generally, showrooms do not quote prices or give memos to clients unless you instruct them to do so. Please check with showrooms in advance to be sure they welcome unescorted clients. Designers who do not give a letter of introduction to a client in advance may send it via fax to the Design Center reception desk at 202.488.5870. Clients should be instructed to pick up their letter at the front desk. Please call the showroom directly to make an appointment for your client. Click here for the current list of showrooms.
