The Merchandise Mart Design Center Debuts “Treasure Hunt

Treasure Hunt,™ the new home furnishings Sample Sale at The Mart will kick off with a special Trade Preview on Thursday, May 4, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. While you may have attended Sample Sales in the past, get ready for MORE—more participating showrooms, more products (including fabric!) and more amenities to make your shopping experience even easier. Treasure Hunt is a business resource for you, even beyond getting excellent savings. Consider using the Trade Preview as a vehicle to reconnect with former clients by letting them know that they can accompany you for exclusive early entrée. Having attended Mart Sample Sales, Janet Blutter Shiff, Blutter Shiff Design Associates Ltd., shares that, “the Sample Sale provides instant gratification for my clients, yet we can still find sophisticated, high-quality, high-end design. For clients with immediate needs such as those who are starting with a blank slate or furnishing a second home, Sample Sale is an ideal venue.” As always, admission is complimentary for design professionals with credentials.

On Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday, May 7, from 11 a.m.–5 p.m., Treasure Hunt is open to the public for an admission fee of $10.

The event will be executed in a way that ignites thousands of area shoppers’ desire for the building’s wealth of resources while demonstrating the importance of working with a design professional. What better way to inspire more people to seek out the help of a professional? Throughout the weekend, in addition to seminars about how and why to work with a designer, The Merchandise Mart Design Center’s online portfolios will come to life through complimentary onsite consultations. Homeowners may bring their design dilemma and enjoy a chance to experience working with a design professional at minimal risk. Treasure Hunt participants at time of printing include: Baker Knapp & Tubbs, Beacon Hill, Betty M Collection, CAI Designs, Century Furniture, Cody Abbott & Assoc., Creative Visions, de Aurora, Duralee, Edward Ferrell/Lewis Mittman, E.R. Janata, F. Schumacher & Co., Henredon, Holly Hunt, Interior Crafts, J.
