On behalf of Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., we would like to welcome you to the first edition of the Merchandise Mart Office and Retail Leasing Newsletter. This newsletter will be a quarterly e-mail that can also be accessed at anytime through our Web site, www.mmart.com/officeretail. This newsletter will circulate to our office and retail tenants at The Merchandise Mart and 350 West Mart Center, formerly known as The Apparel Center.
Within the newsletter we will have a few brief stories about hot topics around the building, as well as links to amenities, shows in the building, Chicago events and ways to use and book our conference facilities.
After this first edition of the newsletter we will have a section called Tenant Announcements where we will be accepting announcements from any office or retail tenant within The Merchandise Mart or 350 West Mart Center. Feel free to submit your tenant announcements from this day forward.
If you are interested in posting an announcement please email Aimee Zabrin at azabrin@mmart.com and we will incorporate into the newsletter. Please note that postings should be a maximum of 30 words and may include a logo. Going forward, deadline dates to submit postings will be listed within this section.
We hope that you enjoy and benefit from receiving this newsletter and circulate it throughout your office. Please feel free to email Aimee Zabrin with any suggestions you may have or information you would like to see included that may benefit your business.
Thank you,
Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. Leasing and Property Management Team
Since the 1930 grand opening of the iconic Merchandise Mart, the building has been an incubator for the entrepreneur and creative thinker. Today, with the addition of 350 West Mart Center, formerly The Apparel Center, The Mart Center has grown and evolved to house some of the most respected and talented companies in the world. Crain’s Chicago Business recently released the fastest growing companies in Chicago and three of the top 11 firms are located in The Mart Center.
Within the past few years, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. has welcomed several newcomers to The Mart Center, including world-renown creative agencies such as JWT, JWT Specialized Communication, Hill & Knowlton, Research International, RMG Connnect, Chicago Focus, Mindshare, 141 Worldwide, Ogilvy & Mather and Ogilvy PR.
The Mart Center is also home to financial stalwarts like Bank of America and Banker’s Life, as well as several software companies that call The Mart Center home, such as:
Allscripts, who ranks #11 on Chicago’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies, is the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions for more than 20,000 physicians across the country. CCC Information Systems, Inc. supplies the automotive claims and collision repair industries with advanced software, communications systems, and Internet and wireless-enabled technology.
Fiserv is a provider of technology solutions to the financial world, including banks, credit unions and securities processing organizations.
Communication companies have selected The Mart Center as their corporate or regional headquarters:
On the west side of Orleans Street sits the sister to The Merchandise Mart, 350 West Mart Center. Since the complete re-vamp of 350 West Mart Center, many notable companies have moved in. Two of these companies are the Chicago Sun-Times and Comcast SportsNet.
The Merchandise Mart also has that sandwich place expanding like crazy all over the country, whose line wraps around the building … what’s its name? Oh that’s right, Potbelly Sandwich Works' corporate headquarters are located in the tower at The Merchandise Mart.
Recently signed Career Education Corporation’s American Intercontinental University (AIU) will occupy 93,000 square feet on the 5th floor of The Merchandise Mart for its online group, which delivers educational services through Internet-based courses. CEC is listed as number five on Crain’s list of Fastest Growing Companies.
Stand tall and be proud, you are in good company.
