THE MERCHANDISE MART INTERNATIONAL FALL ANTIQUES FAIR IS PROUD

TO PRESENT WORLD-RENOWNED ARCHITECT AND DESIGNER

MICHAEL GRAVES AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER

CHICAGO (August 9, 2007) – The Merchandise Mart International Antiques Fair™ is proud to bring award-winning architect and product designer Michael Graves to its 2007 Fall Fair as keynote speaker.

Graves will be delivering the keynote address, “Designs That Stand the Test of Time,” on Friday, October 12 at 10 a.m. in The Merchandise Mart Conference Center. The event is open to the public and includes a complimentary continental breakfast starting at 9:30 a.m. and complimentary admission to the fair at 11 a.m. Attendees are asked to RSVP to Aida Sarvan at 312-527-7970 or asarvan@mmart.com.

This is a rare opportunity to hear from a legendary designer who has made a significant mark on the design and architecture world and brought modern design to the general public. In his keynote presentation, Graves will explore the “it” factor that empowers some items to hold the interest of generations.

Graves has been in the forefront of architecture and design since he founded his practice, Michael Graves & Associates, in 1964. The architectural firm has designed more than 300 buildings worldwide, including: Trump International Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, a multi-billion dollar resort in Sentosa, Singapore, a two-million square-foot hotel and residential project on the Nile in Cairo and the Headquarters for the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C., to name a few.

Today, he and his partners also run the Michael Graves Design Group, the product design and graphic design company behind the successful creation of over 2000 consumer products from lighting, hardware, bath and kitchen to a variety of home and office products, and thriving partnerships with big names like Target, Alessi, Steuben, Dansk, Disney, Delta Faucet and Progress Lighting.

After 10 successful years of annual Spring Fairs, and much demand from attendees and dealers alike, the first-ever Fall Merchandise Mart International Antiques Fair™ will offer collectors another great opportunity to shop from world-class dealers at the premier antiques event in the Midwest.

The Fall Fair will host more than 90 of the world’s top dealers of antiques and fine art, and a wide-range of categories, including: 20th Century Design; Architectural Design; Asian Art and Antiques; Ceramics; Decorative Arts; Furniture; Folk Art; Glass; Jewelry; Rare Books and Maps; Sculpture; Silver; and Tribal Art. This year’s fall fair will also feature a special “Americana” section of wonderful American antiques.

The Fall Fair will be held Thursday, October 11 through Monday, October 15, on the 8th floor of The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The Fair will be open to the public Thursday 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.– 6 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.– 5 p.m.; and Monday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased on-site or online at www.merchandisemartantiques.com.
