NEW YORK CITY (Aug. 11, 2005) -- Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI) is proud to welcome many new suites as they celebrate their grand opening during the premiere New York Gift Week at 7 W New York,™ Aug. 13-18, 2005. The August Gift Week hosts retailers as they shop a world of new, luxury product, network with key industry players and learn critical trend information vital to the success of their businesses at 7 W New York, New York’s premier mart for high-end, high-style luxury product for gift, tabletop and home décor.
“7 W has welcomed thousands of retailers since its April opening. Retailers are thrilled with the environment and the resources,” said Joan Ulrich, vice president of leasing and marketing, MMPI’s gift industry. “We are looking forward to introducing this incredible new building to a whole new group of buyers who may be visiting for the first time. Based on the enthusiastic feedback we have received to date, we expect they will discover 7 W New York as a must to see what is best in luxury.”
NEW SUITES CELEBRATING GRAND OPENING
Each of the following new suites will celebrate their grand opening this week.
AA Importing, Suite 912
Founded in 1934, AA Importing Company, Inc. became famous for its fine selection of art glass and accessories for the antique trader as well as replacement parts, which was the beginning of a strong foundation in the antique reproduction business. Today, its sources of antique reproductions have expanded worldwide. The mediums of products it works in include wood, iron, porcelain, bronze, crystal as well as glassware and stained-glass items. In addition to its standard products, AA Importing custom designs and produces exclusive designs.
Aldik, Suite 1015
More than 50 years ago, Aldik began creating an extensive botanical collection that now contains more than 10,000 items. The company specializes in lifelike floral products such as silk trees, potted plants, floral arrangements, fruits, vegetables, holiday wreaths, garlands and Christmas trees. Premier collections feature floral products supported by furniture, lighting, textiles and other decorative accessories.
Arte Italica, Suite 900
Formed in 1997, Arte Italica was developed to bring European products to the United States that reflect the heritage of traditional artists. Arte Italica features imported lines of luxury and decorative accessories created by European artisans. The company also creates its own designs, patterns and color palettes for its products.
C & S Acosta, Inc., Suite 724
For 20 years, C & S Acosta has been importing decorative home accessories and furnishings from Southeast Asia. The company is best known for blue and white hand-painted porcelain and antique reproduction of bronze sculptures from Thailand. Collections also include accent furniture, hand-carved mirror frames and other products from Southeast Asia.
Department 56, Suite 1000
Best known for handcrafted village figurines, Department 56 features many extensive holiday lines of home decorative products. Established in 1976, the company now offers nearly 3,000 products in giftware, collectibles and holiday decorations.
