TREND-SETTING COLLECTION AT THE MERCHANDISE MART DESIGN CENTER'S FIFTH ANNUAL FURNITURE FAIR, SEPT. 13
CHICAGO (Aug. 10, 2005) — Design professionals from all over the country are invited to The Merchandise Mart Design Center’s Fifth Annual Furniture Fair™ to celebrate luxury, couture furniture design and to be a part of the feature presentation by Alexa Hampton. Furniture Fair is an inspiring celebration of the very best in furniture, featuring more than 50 exciting showroom events, trend-setting collection debuts and presentations by an incredible mix of design experts.
This must-attend event will be held Sept. 13 at The Merchandise Mart and will attract an international audience of top design professionals for residential environments, including interior designers, decorators, architects, facility managers and specifiers. Furniture Fair is open to the trade and media only and there is no cost for admission. Hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m..

ABOUT ALEXA HAMPTON
Alexa Hampton is the president and featured designer of Mark Hampton Inc. Under her direction, the firm has completed a wide range of domestic and international projects, including apartments and large residences, private airplanes and yachts. “House Beautiful,” including Alexa in their annual ‘America’s Best 100 Designers’ list every year since 1999, states: “Alexa Hampton is a modern spirit with a soft spot for old fashioned good taste.”
Hampton is also a senior design consultant and cast member of PBS’ "This Old House” as well as the senior design consultant for Find Ventures, Inc. The Fall season of the television series “Find!,” which premiered in October 2004 on PBS, features Alexa leading viewers through private homes designed by some of the world’s most respected decorators while exploring the latest industry trends shown in designer show houses.

Individual showrooms will be hosting seminars and luncheons throughout the day. In addition, more than 40 showrooms will be hosting open houses where attendees will be the first to see trend-setting lines and collection debuts.
