NEW YORK (Sept. 2, 2005) – The fifth annual Architectural Digest Home Design Show returns to New York City's Pier 94, located at 55th Street and 12th Avenue, March 9-12, 2006. Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI) and Architectural Digest, along with co-sponsor The New York Times, invites design professionals and consumers to experience the latest in home design from more than 200 high-end exhibitors.
"We are excited to bring back the Architectural Digest Home Design Show after it hit such a high note in its fourth year. We know that consumers appreciated the access to sophisticated furnishings and accessories, as well as the expert advice on how to create a luxurious home. Exhibitors also reported record sales, many in the six-figure range," said John H. Brennen III, executive vice president, MMPI.
The four-day show will feature the newest trends in home furnishings, from outdoor living to kitchen and bath products, as well as complimentary design consultations and free seminars. The Architectural Digest Home Design Show attracts affluent, design-savvy consumers who appreciate having many home design resources together in one space. In its fourth year, the show attracted 22,000 people who shopped for elegant furnishings and home accessories, watched cooking demonstrations and attended book signings with leading authors.
A private, trade-only preview day on Thursday, March 9, will offer special events and forums for those in the interior design industry. Admission is free for industry professionals and members of the press.
The Armory Show, the International Fair of New Art, which attracts 40,000 visitors who spend over $40 million, will once again run concurrently with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show on the adjacent Piers 90 & 92.
