FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEPTEMBER 2004 PULSE SHOW TO SHOWCASE HOTTEST URBAN AND
CONTEMPORARY LINES AT CHICAGO’S MERCHANDISE MART
CHICAGO (July 30, 2004)— Buyers will find the latest in hip-hop, street, board sports, urban and contemporary clothing and accessories when they attend the September 2004 Pulse show, the premier urban wear apparel trade show in the Midwest. The show, to be held Sept. 8-10, 2004, in the 8th-Floor Market Suites at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago, will feature hundreds of the hottest lines for men, women and children.
“We anticipate a strong showing by both buyers and exhibitors at the September Pulse market,” said Susan McCullough, vice president of apparel, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI). “After such a successful debut in June 2004, Pulse is poised for incredible growth. This market fills a need within the industry for a show geared toward this lifestyle movement, and it is being met with high levels of enthusiasm and excitement from retailers and manufacturers alike.”
Still in its inaugural year, Pulse has met with great success, attracting buyers from across the United States. “Pulse is great. It is very convenient to have the lines in one location, and it’s so easy to find everything I need,” said Michael Lowder, a buyer from Notorious Image in Cleveland, Ohio. “Pulse is also very safe, secure and private; you have to be a legitimate retailer to come to this show – that’s something we’ve never had before.”
“The debut show was beautiful,” said Terrance, a buyer from Detroit Authentics in Detroit, Mich. “I am so impressed. Pulse has everything – the right clothes, the right lines, the right people.”
Approximately 200 top urban/streetwear manufacturers are expected to exhibit in the September show. Exhibitors in the June show included Akademiks, Azzure, Drunk’n’Munky, Girbaud Ladies, Girbaud Men’s, Makaveli, Phat Farm, Rocawear and Sean John.
