HARVEST GOODS, INC. TO OPEN NEW SHOWROOM AT THE MERCHANDISE MART FOR THE JANUARY 2005 CHICAGO GIFT & HOME MARKET™
CHICAGO (Nov. 30, 2004) -- Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI) is proud to announce a long-term lease agreement with Harvest Goods, Inc., a wholesale line of home and garden products with fresh designs incorporating natural outdoor elements. The new showroom in space 12-304 of Chicago’s Merchandise Mart will debut at the January 2005 Chicago Gift & Home Market,™ which will be held Jan. 19-26, and will feature Old World, European-style products such as pottery, tableware, ceramics, home and garden accessories.

Since its debut in January 2003, the Harvest Goods product line has received nationwide attention in Better Homes & Gardens, Home Accents Today, HGTV® and also has received a Chicago’s Choice Award during the July 2003 Chicago Gift & Home Market. Harvest Goods’ wide array of home and garden accessories, seasonal items and tableware allow buyers to mix and match the products to develop their own unique look.

The Chicago Gift & Home Market also has expanded by 100,000 square feet on floors 7 and 8 bringing the total dedicated square footage of the Market to 1,150,000. The expansion includes an even larger Home section as well as the relocation and growth of Beckman’s Handcrafted Gift Show™ Chicago to the 7th floor. The existing 8th-floor temporary exhibit space has been completely refurbished to feature an improved floorplan and updated look. The Chicago Gift & Home Market runs Jan. 19-26, 2005 (with temporary exhibitors and Beckman’s Handcrafted Gift Show Chicago held Jan. 22-25). A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 7th and 8th floors will take place Saturday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. Buyers will be treated to upbeat music, complimentary mimosas and appetizers as the nearly 1,000 exhibitors are welcomed.
