THE ONE OF A KIND SHOW AND SALE® CHICAGO, DECEMBER 6-9, 2007,

PARTNERS WITH CHILDREN’S MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

CHICAGO (October 31, 2007) — Once again, The One of a Kind Show and Sale® Chicago has partnered with Children’s Memorial Hospital to raise money for the renowned children’s hospital. One hundred percent of ticket sales from the show’s opening day, Thursday, December 6 from noon to 9 p.m., will benefit Children’s Memorial Hospital. Also, a number of exhibiting artists will donate a percentage of their sales that day and all sales of special drinks that evening will support the hospital. In addition, a number of artisans have opted to donate their time and talents to the children in Artist Workshops at the hospital.

The One of a Kind Show and Sale, December 6-9, 2007, is the most popular shopping extravaganza of the season. Open to the public, the Show offers original works from paintings to photography, sculpture to pottery, hand crafted jewelry and home décor and fashion accessories. Upwards of 450 carefully selected, juried artists and artisans from across North America will be exhibiting at this must-attend annual event. Throughout the weekend, shoppers can meet the artists, learn the stories behind their work and shop the best in fine art and craftsmanship, while enjoying a show replete with special programming and amenities.

“We are delighted to once again partner with Children’s Memorial,” declared Marketing Director Lisa Simonian. “Their reputation for excellence is well-founded. It’s especially exciting that a number of our artists want to get personally involved with the kids at Children’s. This year’s Artist Workshops add an entirely new and wonderful dimension to our One of a Kind Show.”

The Artist Workshop program brings the joy and beauty of art to the children in the hospital. Each Workshop is hosted by one of the talented One of a Kind Show and Sale artists. Through hand-over-hand instruction, artists will help the children create their own works of art. The following Workshops have occurred with great success: September 18 & 25 with glass artist Suellen Parker, October 2 with painter Armando Pedroso, October 23 with mixed-media artist Ann Maxwell Weisbrod. On November 6, jeweler Veronica Reily Martens will hold the final workshop.

Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago, is recognized as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country by rankings published in U.S. News & World Report. Its physicians are on the faculty at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. As a not-for-profit organization, Children’s Memorial relies on philanthropy to help provide care to more than 103,000 patients and their families every year.
