New, expanded showroom indicative of strong growth in High Point, N.C.
HIGH POINT, N.C. (Sept. 22, 2005) – In its sixth year at the High Point International Home Furnishings Market,® Legacy Classic Furniture has amassed more than 42,000 square feet of furniture showroom space for its bedroom, dining, occasional and youth furniture lines. With more than 80,000 attendees coming through the High Point marketplace during each of the bi-annual markets, Legacy couldn’t be happier to have roots in the world’s largest wholesale furniture market. It will debut its newly expanded space in Plaza Suites, Suite C-100, located at 222 S. Main Street, at the fall Market, Oct. 20-26, 2005.
Legacy was thrilled when its urgent need for more space was met quickly and efficiently by Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI), manager of Plaza Suites. “MMPI has been a partner since we started,” said Kevin O’Connor of Legacy. “Not only have they found us space in Plaza Suites, but they have helped us with our growth. They found space for us when we needed it most and we thank them for that. Our location couldn’t be better, and now we have the space to be able to include all of our new products.”
The Legacy Classic Furniture showroom will host a special groundbreaking celebration prior to the opening of the International Home Furnishings Market on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 5-8 p.m.
“Legacy is a major resource serving key accounts. Their investment in expanding and renovating their showroom proves their commitment to High Point,” said Tom Mitchell, senior vice president, High Point, MMPI. “We are proud to partner with such a major, value-driven exhibitor.”
ABOUT PLAZA SUITES
Plaza Suites is home to dozens of permanent showrooms and more than 100 temporary exhibitors. Plaza Suites — aptly named because of its proximity to Furniture Plaza and its description of the market "suites" setup inside — offers buyers all of their merchandising needs. This 460,000 gross-square-foot, five-story exhibit facility, which opened in October 2001, houses an impressive collection of top, nationally recognized names in the furniture industry. In addition to Legacy Classic Furniture, these nationally recognized permanent tenants include England, Leather Trend, Progressive Furniture, DMI Furniture, Wynwood and Master Designs.
The state-of-the-art architecture and layout of Plaza Suites is designed to integrate with the adjoining Furniture Plaza and function as one building. In fact, the two buildings are physically connected and integrated at all five levels. Buyers may shop the National Furniture Mart, Furniture Plaza, Plaza Suites, Historic Market Square and the Suites at Market Square without ever having to leave the buildings.
The opening of Plaza Suites in October 2001 also debuted a new, six-story storefront to the adjacent Furniture Plaza building. This entirely renovated storefront matches that of Plaza Suites using identical materials and design elements.
