The showroom’s complete redesign timed for the October Market
HIGH POINT, N.C. (Sept. 23, 2005) – Fairmont Designs unveils a new look at its 30,000-square-foot showroom in the National Furniture Mart in High Point, N.C. The showroom overhaul was planned to coincide with the October 2005 International Home Furnishings Market,® the world’s largest wholesale furniture event, which will be held Oct. 20-26.
“This total renovation was intended to remind our dealers that Fairmont Designs is committed to their success with new products, new display ideas and new merchandising support,” said Ken Fonville, vice president of merchandising for Fairmont Designs, the Buena Park, Calif.-based company that sells bedroom, dining, occasional and upholstered furniture.
Celebrating 20 years at High Point, Fairmont Designs made numerous changes to the 6th-floor space, including a larger lobby, new paint colors, architectural details and new flooring throughout, all in order to enhance the products being displayed and give the Fairmont retailer new ideas for creative displays. Joyce Design Group of Greensboro, N.C., a well-known design firm that works with a number of High Point showrooms, was commissioned to design the space.
Fairmont Designs Residential Division president Brian K. Edwards said the company was pleased to reinforce its commitment to the High Point market by investing in the showroom.
“We are very proud to have such a fine line as Fairmont represented in the National Furniture Mart,” said Tom Mitchell, senior vice president, High Point, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. (MMPI). “This major investment in the High Point market means they are committed to serving key dealers. We’re thrilled to be their partner.”
